FEDERAL BUDGET 2022 BRIEFING
On Thursday 31 March 2022, IPAA Queensland and our partner MGD Wealth was pleased to host the 2022 Federal Budget Briefing.
With the Federal Budget delivered on 29 March 2022, this was a timely opportunity to hear a highly informative analysis of the overall economic and personal implications of the Budget. The webinar was relevant, concise and covered important considerations that affected Queenslanders and all Australians.
Brian Parker, Chief Economist of the Australian Retirement Trust, reviewed fiscal policy post COVID in an environment where the domestic and global economic environment is likely to remain highly uncertain. What have we discovered about the role of government in the economy and society? What does this mean for fiscal policy at all levels of government? And how does the government’s latest fiscal efforts stack up?
Richard Marsden (Director, International and Executive) and Jessica Harris (Client Adviser) at MGD Wealth addressed:
- Federal Budget 2022: announcements as they affect personal financial strategy
- The implications of inflation and rising interest rates for personal wealth
- Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) investing: is it really possible to have it all – investments which align with your values and great returns?
The webinar also included an update on the merger of QSuper and Sunsuper into the Australian Retirement Trust (ART), one of Australia’s most historic company mergers, including what is in it for members. This was delivered by Erick Cordero, Head of Government and Stakeholder Relationships at ART.
This was followed by Q&A opportunity for attendees.
