Stewards on the Couch Series – Jasmina Joldić PSM

IPAA Queensland invites the public purpose community to attend our first Stewards on the Couch series for 2024.
This event will see Ms Jasmina Joldić PSM, Director-General of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General take to the couch to have a conversation with Russell Fairbanks, Managing Director of Luminary.
During this conversation, attendees can expect to hear more about Jasmina’s long-standing career in public service, her leadership journey, career challenges, and priorities for the portfolio, and her journey as a first-generation humanitarian migrant in Australia.
This event is a must attend for anyone keen to understand the career journey of one of Queensland’s top public purpose leaders and connect with others in the sector.
FORMAT
Stewards on the Couch follows a casual, ‘in conversation’ style format where the interviewer, and the interviewee take to the couch to conduct and informative, engaging and interactive discussion.
The audience are invited to participate in a short Q&A opportunity after approximately one hour of conversation. After event content has been conducted, there is a short but engaging networking session afterwards over refreshments.

ABOUT JASMINA JOLDIC PSM 
Ms Jasmina Joldić PSM is an accomplished senior executive and policy expert who has advocated for equity throughout her career. Jasmina’s expertise in guiding high-performing teams and driving outcomes on critical initiatives has been built from over 15 years of experience across the State and Commonwealth governments, as well as the higher education sector.
Ms Joldić has been Director-General of Queensland’s Department of Justice and Attorney-General since May 2023. This role follows her experience as Associate Director-General, Strategy, Policy and Reform in Queensland Health, in which she led the development of visionary system-wide policy, including HealthQ32, and prior leadership of critical functions contributing to Queensland’s successful COVID-19 response, for which she was awarded a Public Service Medal in 2022.
Ms Joldić previously served in strategic leadership and policy roles across a range of Queensland and Commonwealth Government agencies, including the Department of the Premier and Cabinet; Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning; Department of Community Safety; and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Ms Joldić received the Griffith University and Griffith Business School Alumnus of the Year awards in 2023.
Her experiences in the higher education sector with the University of Queensland and University of Melbourne have also contributed to her innovative approaches to public sector reform, strategy and organisational design to facilitate transformation.
ABOUT russell fairbanks 
Russell Fairbanks, Managing Director of Luminary. With over 20 years in senior executive roles at leading global consulting firms, Russell Fairbanks founded Luminary™ in 2019 to provide leadership advisory services to Queensland’s most respected organisations.
Russell works with senior executive leaders, supporting them in their leadership development and career transitions or helping them build high-performing teams.
