2022 Chief Executives and Young Professionals Breakfast

event sold out!

IPAA Queensland’s annual and hugely popular signature event, the Chief Executives and Young Professionals Breakfast  returned to City Hall in May 2022.

This year’s theme explored the power of brain science for making better leaders and creating more human workplaces. The practice of neuroleadership has never been more relevant than in today’s environment of disruption and uncertainty as change profoundly challenges our brains.

Dr David Rock, Founder and CEO of the Neuroleadership Institute, was our keynote speaker!

Trying to change other people’s thinking appears to be one of the hardest tasks in the world. While the easy answer may seem to be to give people feedback, real change happens when people see things they have not seen before. The best way to help someone see something new is to help quiet her mind so that she can have a moment of insight. As you have insights, you change your brain, and by changing your brain you change your whole world. Dr David Rock, Your Brain at Work.

The audience of the day participated in interactive workshops and a panel discussing not just the science, but also the application of these critical habits in the workplace. With Rona McLean-Carmody, Chief Operating Officer from Alya; Naomi Bruton, Organisational Development Consultant with the Department of Resources, being joined by Dr Rock, spoke to their own experiences in employing the NeuroLeadership Institute SCARF practice framework and more. Stephen Beckett, Strategic Advisor with the NeuroLeadership Institute moderated and connected the crowd to the conversation.

This event was a terrific opportunity to set yourself up for leading during 2022!

ABOUT THE CHIEF EXECUTIVES & YOUNG PROFESSIONALS BREAKFAST

Now in its’ fifth year, the CEO & YP Breakfast is a signature event of IPAA Queensland, hosted annually at the iconic Brisbane City Hall.

This renowned event provides a perfect opportunity for chief and senior executives from across the QLD public purpose sector to invest in the talent of the future and recognise young professionals in their organisation. Chief Executives are invited to host a table (10 places) of young professionals from their organisation. We think of YPs as young or emerging leaders, those new to public service, or in the early stages of their public purpose career. The event is a fantastic opportunity for YPs to engage with senior leaders, share ideas and build their professional networks.

We would like to acknowledge and thank the sponsors of this event –
